In the long-ago times, there was once a young boy who started a trip to the far end of the earth, where it was told that nobody was allowed to go. He is carrying the body of a young girl who died because of a terrible magic. He is looking for the Dormin, a strange creature who lives in that area and looks like a god. The Dormin is shocked because the boy has an old and magic sword, and he begins to talk with the boy. The rules of people say that a dead person’s spirit cannot come back, so the being says that he cannot help him bring back the life of the girl who was hurt by magic. But he does say that there could be a way to bring her back—but only if the boy is ready to feel a lot of pain as the cost for doing that. But this will not be an easy thing.
The hero has to go on a path to destroy sixteen huge beasts, which are giant creatures that stand very high above the land. To help the girl he cares for, he will have to ride across the big lands with his old weapon and his horse Agro while looking for the beasts. These beasts are strong and deadly, looking like big animals or tall creatures that walk like humans. Their skin is harder than cloth, and the hard cover they wear is made from real stone. The boy, however, is able to beat the huge beings and save the soul of the girl he loves by hitting their weak spot with his old sword and breaking it.
ICO happens in the same world as Shadow of the Colossus, which means it comes before ICO. The full game is about finding and fighting the game’s sixteen beasts, each of which must be found and killed in a set order. The hero must ride his horse and move across the big lands of the world, using his bright sword to show how close the beast is while he looks for the huge things. This is not always an easy thing. Outside of the big fights, there are no bad guys or risks anywhere in the game’s world. After finding a beast, a huge fight starts.
